I absolutely love these markets as you get quality, second hand goods for a great price. If you’re like me and sick of the same old stuff at the department stores and after something unique then be sure to go and check out one of the following children’s second hand goods markets: baby & kids market, Munchkin markets in Marribyrnong 21st June and Peek a Boo market in Melbourne at various locations. You’ll find heaps of clothes, toys, prams, books, shoes, cots and practically anything related to children!
There are markets all over Australia, almost every weekend and its a great day out for the family as they often have children’s activities. Some neighbourhood houses and other community groups also run these so be sure to check out your local newspaper for markets in your area.
Another popular event is the clothing exchange where you take a certain amount of items and swap them for anything that you like. Eco Toys was at the first mums & bubs one last year and it was a great day out for all.

Alternatively if you can’t find a baby & kids market in your area then there are lots of great op shops that have a great selection of second hand baby & children’s goods and your money is going towards helping a charity.
Reasons why I love pre-loved goods:
- Environmentally friendly – recycle & re-use.
- Save money, find bargins.
- Some quality & unique products from antique to retro, stylish and funky.
- Unique – you find products that suit you and not what everyone else is wearing.
- Money usually goes to other mums or a charity, not big department stores.
- Its fun, you’ll never know what you’ll find!
